Trusses are custom products, we can work with your plans, or we can design from scratch, we have a full engineering department (PE).

As for the Pods, each one is a new design, after architectural design, engineering and CNC production plans are ready, a State Certifications is needed (in any State that the pods will be installed, we are currently approved in FL, TX, and TN), this is a process that we are very familiar with.

To achieve the approval, a first prototype must be built and “third party inspections” are needed during all this process. After the certification, we can produce as many as needed.

Each pod will go thought an exhaustive quality control at our factory, but it will also be inspected by a third-party agency on behalf of the State, you rest assure knowing that they comply with absolutely all construction and quality standards. Each unit is certified before is shipped to you.

STEEL FRAMING IN CONSTRUCTION

Steel framing is a practical, code approved solution to many of the limitations that builders face today when using traditional building materials.

The strength and ductility of structural cold-formed steel (CFS) framing, along with the holding power of CFS connections, make it the ideal material for construction in high wind speed and seismic zones such as the U. S. eastern seaboard, the Gulf Coast states, California and Hawaii. Characteristics such as non-combustibility, termite/mold resistance, and dimensional stability can lower construction and homeownership costs.

Each piece of CFS shipped to the job site contains a minimum of 25% recycled content and is 100% recyclable at the end of its lifespan. For these reasons and many others, the use of steel framing continues to grow every year with more than 40% of commercial structures now using steel framing and with nearly 500,000 homes built with steel framing over the past decade.

ABOUT COLD-FORMED STEEL

Steel is usually a recycled material that comes from a mill in coils, then each sheet of steel that is formed into shapes (most commonly a “C” shape) The sizes are the same as what builders are accustomed to seeing in dimensional lumber (2x4, 2x6, 2x8, 2x10, 2x12, and so forth).

Steel framing profiles are formed in a process called roll forming by passing sheet steel through a series of rollers to form the bends that make the shape, the studs and joists are made stronger than the original sheet steel through this process.

Technology

shutterstock_208408690.jpg
Stalo Frames’ process is unique due to the use of BIM technology and state of the art CNC machinery to produce cold-formed steel frames, or profiles, for wall panels, joist panels, trusses, and modular buildings.  Its advanced technology driven manufacturing process designs, manufactures, and prefabricates light gauge steel framing panels and roof trusses. Moreover, unlike typical wood framing, Stalo’s steel Frames are  non-combustible, stronger, lighter, environmentally friendly, and recyclable. It also eliminates the likelihood of mold, rodent, or pest infestation. Additionally, Stalo Frames’ system can be used as a structural system for buildings that are up to 11 stories which provides the clients the ability to increase density at an extremely competitive cost.

ADVANTAGES OF STEEL FRAMING

Construction speed, usually 60% faster than traditional construction.

The structure of the Steel Frame is made of galvanized steel, which does not oxidize over time

Steel is light in weight and has the highest strength-to-weight ratio of any construction material which results in less material needed. This also translates into an easy-to-handle on-site material.

Non-combustible material that does not burn or contribute fuel to a fire.

Inorganic:  will not rot, warp, split, crack or creep.  Mold Resistant

Not vulnerable to termites

100% recyclable and Eco-Friendly, an average 2,000 SF steel framed house can generate as little as one-cubit yard of RECYCLABLE SCRAP while traditional construction have large amount of debris and demolition waste to DISPOSE.

In North America alone,  the Steel Industry waves the equivalent energy to power 18 million homes for a year, Typically in North America 60 to 80 million tons of scrap steel are recycled per year into new products. But also when you buy Steel in US, you buy recycled. It is the top recycled product globally.  The recycling of steel is associated with reduction is energy use as well as lower co2 emissions.  Steel framing has proven performance in high wind zones

Additionally, we offer combinations of pods with other construction elements that are part of the program, for example: bathroom & Laundry room, bathroom & half bathroom, bathroom and kitchen or kitchenette.

To produce bathrooms in a controlled environment is cost and time effective, but it has another benefit too, such as high quality and defect free bathroom. Our system can be used for residential and commercial projects, medium to large scale projects are ideal.

The pods are designed specifically for the client’s necessities and to their specifications, all levels of finishes are possible.

Combinations are also interesting options, bathroom and laundry room, main bathroom and walk-in closet, full bathroom, and half bathroom. Our designers and engineers can make them a reality.

KITCHEN PODS

Another great solution and time saver are our kitchen pods, in addition to your own design (subject to design revision) we offer a full range of options and shapes, from the “u” from kitchen to “L” shape and “in-line” designs.

Our combination options are very useful Kitchen & Laundry, Kitchen & ½ Bath, Kitchen & Full Bath are some of the most popular items.

Same as bathroom pods, the kitchen pods can be built as per our standard designs or your custom design.

TRUSSES

Our CFS Trusses are not only more resistant that the wood option, but they are also lighter, fire retardant and they are termite and mold Resistant. So, when quality and fast delivery are in mind there is no better option.

Our engineering department can either: design the trusses and structural plans for your home, or convert your plans and designs from wood to steel (CFS).

PANELIZED STRUCTURES

Our cold-formed steel framing structures are strong, durable, and cost effective. They are an option to traditional CMU walls. The system can be use for commercial and residential structures. The system relies on load bearings walls, which translates into less or no columns, long spams and allow large open spaces.

Steel structures gives architects freedom to design and achieve their structures. Different cladding options are available in variety of colors and finishes. The designers can give their buildings the look and feel desired.

Galvanized steel is resistant to corrosion, extremely resistant, our buildings are design to satisfy all construction requirements.  Our engineering team can work with your architect on the structural plans, we can also convert traditional construction documents into CFS construction documents.

Our buildings and structures are built off-site, this results in: shorter and predictable construction time, faster building occupancy, lower financing costs, and less constructions waste are just some of their benefits.

MODULAR HOMES

We are certified modular homes manufacturers in FL, TX, and TN. Our company offers a complete line of modular homes, from studios, tiny homes, to single family, Townhomes, and duplexes with steel structure.

One of steel's biggest advantages is its strength-to-weight ratio. Considering how light it is, it is an extremely strong material. Despite that strength, it is still flexible which allows it to stand up to weather and seismic activity.

Our products are environmentally friendly, mold and termite resistant, extremely energy efficient and cost effective.

FAQ

  • My construction plans include wood trusses, can I change them to metal?  Yes, you can, and we can help, even if the plans are approved, we can submit a revision.

  • Do you provide truss plans? Yes, we do sign, sealed and ready for approval.

  • Are the metal trusses installation more difficult that the wood trusses? Definitely no, they just need to be handled more carefully.

  • What are the advantages of metal trusses vs wood trusses?

              1.  Metal trusses are lighter yet more resistant.

              2. Metal trusses are termite resistant.

              3. They are also fire retardant and mold resistant

  • What about the pod’s finishes: Plumbing, lighting fixtures and all the finishes can be customized to your specifications, we use the same materials than traditional construction does, so the look and feel of our products is never compromised.

  • Are the pods limited to a particular size & shape: bathroom pods can come in various shapes and sizes, but to facilitate manufacturing, transportation and installation, certain criteria can be recommended.

  • Do all the pods have to be the same design? Standardization helps, to have common elements on your design is another way to optimize costs and fabrication.

  • What about the pod`s Installation? The pods can be installed over your concrete slab, but also over a any elevated type of foundation (wood or steel joists for example). Our products are designed to causes the least possible number of penetrations on a concrete slab.

  • Are the pod`s walls thicker? our walls same size as any other wall, there is no space wasted, the interior is finished, and the exterior are left expose allowing to finish it seamless with the other walls.

  • Tell more about the electrical & plumbing system on Pods: standard connections for both are provided, for plumbing cold water, hot water and discharging pipes. For electrical two points that are connected to beakers panel.

  • What about fire sprinklers (commercial structures) when needed must be installed by other trades (licensing issues), but all service holes and penetrations are part of our design. So, it comes “ready to install”

  • Ventilation on pods, tell me more: space for A/C ducts and or ventilation ducts is provided on the pods ceiling. mechanical connection work is simple.
